I visited Kauhava during midsummer festival with Sanna, while Sanna’s mother took care of Samuel.

The airshow was amazing. I lack words for describing how mindblowing it is to simultaneously hear and see an F-16 fly with full throttle over the runway, see the Falcon hitting afterburners and rocket straight up to the sky while you prepare your ears to take the inevitable thundering roar emitted by the the Pratt & Whitney F100 engine. Brings tears to my eyes, always.. (ok, *now *you take me as a mad military fanatic for sure).

What I really mean to say is that the F-16 is the prettiest friggin’ fighter ever built, dash it. Those pilots should be billed to the bottom of their wallets for being lucky enough to get to fly them. But no, they are paid for the fun. Blast. I can’t help but envy them.

What was actually quite surprising is that my wife did like the airshow a lot, even to the point of almost blaming me for not being a fighter pilot :)

I also took some pictures for your perusal. And hey, if you happened to ran into us at the event, you’re welcome to send me some e-mail!
